I loved this book. So far Cord is my favorite McKay son so far. And his son Ky just cracked me up. As I got to the end of the book and stuff was still happening to AJ I keep thinking when is the good stuff going to happen. She underwent a lot of stuff and heartache. Of course I am glad things worked out in the end for her. Can't wait to read more about this family.
I once had a cultist tell me that "defiance was witchcraft"...how Puritanical of her. Read over several weeks while on lunchbreak, it isn't a particularly "fun" non-fiction book (too many statistics for that), but it doesn't get bogged down in academic language. The epilogue points out that it is somewhat dated and further research has revealed some errors, but I still came away feeling well-informed about early New England society in regards to witches, possession, and witchcraft.
