I read this in high school for a scholarship essay in Coppoc's class. Loved it. Then my roommate in college read it while we were living together and i got to finally discuss it with someone. It is definitely tough to get through b/c it's so long and Rand can go overboard on detail, but worth a read.
I'm don't usually enjoy fantasy that much and did not overly enjoy the original Peter Pan either, so don't take my rating too seriously. Even though I did not love the book though, I think it has a lot of potential for use in a classroom. (ie. writing sequals, anchored instruction with multiple anchors...if you were in Vicki Risko's class)
Rois and Laurel are two very different sisters. The story follows Rois, the wild girl who feels at home outdoors. Both girls become fascinated with a man named Corbet. Rois becomes tangled in enchantments and mystery as she seeks to rescue the man she and her sister both love.
